Pagosa Highlands

We've been coming to Pagosa to ski for many years, we love the town and Wolf Creek like a 2nd home. We've been renting from VIP for a year or two, previously we'd used VRBO. Our experience with VIP managed homes has been quite good - this home is a slight exception. While the home is well equipped, comfortable and cozy, there are some challenges to be aware of. VIP did attempt to address all of them and did send a maintenance worker out to help us - their service is exceptional and some issues cannot be fixed quickly. First - there is insufficient heat in the basement where the twin/trundle room is located as well as the pullout couch. To sleep 9-10 people you will need both of these beds. A space heater is provided but you have to set it up in the main room and leave the twin BR door open or one or the other will be quite chilly (which is great if you like it that way, tougher for kids). Once we figured that out - we were fine. Easy fix. Second - the heat on the main floor is a little wonky. The living room and kitchen will be cool and so you turn up the heat (located in the main hall). This results in a warm living room and a hot master & spare bedroom such that sleeping with windows cracked is necessary. My opinion - house needs different heating setup. But you can mess with the thermostat easily enough and figure out what works for you. Finally - the master bath shower didn't have hot enough water and the pressure was so low that only kids with short hair could effectively shower. Maintenance came and was able to crank more hot water out of the faucet but the pressure was still too low for anyone but kids. They did indicate they would replace the inner works of the shower faucet - but obviously that's not a fix in a weekend so we didn't get the benefit. Other properties with VIP are better maintained and more comfortable without these challenges, hopefully the owners and/or VIP get some updates done to correct. We would not rent this home again without those fixes as better properties are available from VIP for similar pricing.

The house was beautiful. All the information that we needed to know was before us. House was stocked with everything we needed. The only suggestion I have is to install ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. I would stay there again for sure!

Great House, good location.

The house was awesome about 20 minutes away from downtown Pagosa. Hiking the trails behind the house is a very easy and scenic. The property has a gate that leads to the trails. There are a ton of things to do in town. It will not be hard to keep yourself entertained. The property management company offer discounted rates to do activities!. The response to needs for the house is crazy fast. My family had a wonderful time

The home was beautiful. We loved staying here with our family, the lower living area was a great way for the kids to hang out together while the adults were upstairs. Beds were all comfortable, the home was a nice size and was very clean and well stocked. Can’t wait to make it back for another stay!

Loved visiting Colorado.. it’s never disappointing! The house was up to expectations, very clean and easy to get to. The area is very quiet you could even hear a pin if you dropped it on the ground. Definitely will stay here again.
