Escapa Lakeside Getaway

Arrived 7/13/24, rental was very dirty, cobwebs everywhere. Floors, carpet, cabinets not clean:hair, food under couch, broken glass and dust/dirt thru out condo. Large dust bunny behind bear statue. Ceiling fan blades and fixture chain full of dirt and cobwebs. Upper 2 windows were filthy and many cobwebs. Could not use ceiling fan due to dust on blades. Deck outside had peeling paint on deck and railing. Old plastic green chairs stained our clothes due to the fact that the plastic chairs were deteriorated. Screens on the patio door and window were coming off. Rollers and track on sliding screen door were very dirty and hard to open and close. Coffee table missing screws on 1 leg and table leaned. Recliner couch back kept coming off. 49 night stay with only 1 set of thin and old sheets. No supplies were replenished, no Kleenex. Pots and pans could not be used, were old and scratched Teflon. Had to purchase our own cookware. Few food containers and most did not have lids that fit. No ice maker, bottle opener. View of dumpster with trash all over the ground. Walls in down stairs bath were sticky and when I wiped the wall down the towel was black. There were nick and paint scratches on most walls in living room, hallway, entry and bedroom. Asked VIP several times to meet, but were told they were too busy. VIP sent a handyman over and he repaired screens and recliner. He could not tell me why the bath walls were sticky. VIP then sent 2 cleaners over to do a surface cleanse and we talked about what our concerns were but instead of cleaning, they left. There was no problem when we talked to them. VIP told us we yelled at them which is a lie. They charged us a rental tax of $1106. Found out there is no tax on long term rentals, only on short term rentals. We had a contract for 6 week and only stayed 4 weeks because we were told to leave immediately. We finally got our $1106 rental tax back thanks with the help of VRBO. We had to wait for the refund of the last 2 weeks. In VIP website they are to perform a WHITE GLOVE SERVICE, untrue. We then found out that the owners of VIP own this unit. What a way to run their company! They left a very sour taste with us. Pagosa Spring deserves better representation. Will not be going back to Pagosa Springs!

Location was great. View was just what I wanted. The unit is very tired. Carpet was full of hair. Cookware and dishes were excellent but extremely unorganized. Had to buy salt, pepper and sugar. That was a first in 30 yrs. Very cheap toilet paper and paper towels. I totally expected better in a unit that expensive. Pretty disappointing.

We were greeted with badly stained carpets in the unit. Not what was represented in the photos. Was told this was a known problem and the carpets were due to be replaced after we left. Overall the location was good.

The property was fantastic it was clean and in a great location. We loved waking up and drinking coffee on the balcony with our unobstructed views of Mt Pagosa. Only negative was that I wish there was a coffee pot instead of a kurieg.

Very good experience

This is an acceptable condo, a nice location, and the surrounding property is nice. My constructive feedback to the owner, is they need to take care of some details or they will not get repeat customers. Some examples, the carpet needs to be replaced. There are mud/dirt stains on every step of the stairs, and stained overall. There was not enough toilet paper, we had to go to the store on the second day to get some. There were only two hot pads in the kitchen, so we resorted to using towels to take pans out of the oven. The bowls in the cupboard were dirty, and had some choice late substance smeared on them. As a result, we considered all the dishes in the cupboards to be dirty, and washed them before use. More kitchen utensils are needed too. Otherwise, the condo has a very good layout, nice bed rooms and furniture, good location, and the management company was great to work with and very responsive. I would be fine staying here again, but would first look for another condo, due to the issues I described.

Great place. Just know that there are stairs from garage and parking to living area.

Location was great. House could use some updates. Carpet was really stained and deck stain is all peeling off. Other than that, can’t complain. We would stay there again.

The condo was situated in a very lovely area. Beautiful views, nice paved walking trails, close to golf course, walking distance to grocery stores and a neighborhood coffee shop. We rented because we are vacationing with our family dog. The condo was spotless. My husband and son brought road bikes and were thrilled to have the garage to store their bicycles and gear, and park our vehicle. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was a nice amenity. I notified the management company of some maintenance issues which needed addressing. I did not receive a response prior to our departure. Maintenance issues included a patio screen torn from its frame on the balcony, living room coffee table with a very loose support leg, and a slow running master vanity sink drain. They issues were not urgent and were a concern for safety especially if the next renter has toddlers or small children where these could be hazards to them. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with kitchen essentials. The one small appliance which was absent was a hand held mixer which I would have liked to utilize for making a dessert. Overall a wonderful stay.

House was good. Description needs to indicate that there are stairs to enter the home at all entrances. Stairs to the garage where car is steep with many steps. The railing is on only one side. Carpet is dark and smooth. It is difficult to see bottom steps. I slipped on stair carpet and ended up in ER.

My husband and I stayed in this lovely condo for the month of September and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The condo was spotless when we checked in and there were thoughtful touches that made the home not only pet-friendly, but easy to clean up after our dog. I appreciated the old towels in the closet by the front door, which were handy for wiping paws. (We usually bring an old towel on trips for tasks like this, but had forgotten this time.) I also thought the dual kitchen sponge holder was great, with one sponge labeled for “people” and the other for “dogs”. The rechargeable Bissell stick vac was great for quick clean-ups, and there was also a full-size vacuum for more thorough cleaning. Besides being clean, the bathrooms had been updated, and the walk-in shower had a spa-like feel. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. If you enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the sunlight play over the mountains at dawn and dusk, this place is for you. Even though you are “in town” and within walking distance of the rec center, the grocery store and some restaurants, the area behind the condo is an open grassland field with the San Juan mountains on the horizon. The location was also perfect for watching the balloon launch during the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Several balloons were launched from the field behind the condo. The manager was very responsive to our needs. When we noticed the “change battery” indicator on the thermostat had appeared, Stuart came over that day to take care of it. His assistant, Jessica, helped us with booking and getting all relevant information emailed to us prior to our stay. Both were very friendly and accommodating, and I would recommend using VIP Companies, Inc. to plan your next getaway in Pagosa Springs.

We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect home base for day trips to hiking and fishing. Room for all of us plus our fur babies!

My family loved the layout of this property. There's space for "togetherness" and plenty of space if you need to be away from everyone. It's also close to restaurants and a grocery store. I felt that the property manager was only a text away if I needed anything.

This was my first time coordinating a VRBO and it was more fun and easy than I had imagined! My husband and I are already taking about a return trip and want to stay at the same place. Also have told friends and family!

Had a great visit in Pagosa. The Lakeview condo was very clean and comfortable. Easy to get to and a quiet area! Enjoyed our stay very much.

Had a great stay in the condo. Waking up every morning and having unobstructed views of the mountian range was unbeatable. The place was clean and Jessica was quick to respond and easy to communicate with during our stay. My group and I would definitely stay here again next time we visit Pagosa Springs.

We will never stay in a hotel again!! The process was so convenient and easy. The condo was in a great location, clean and comfortable. It’s the perfect set up for a family with children. I HIGHLY recommend this VRBO and Pagosa Springs!!

We stayed for 3 weeks at this lovely townhome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything that you'd need is included here and the views of Pagosa Peak out the back were spectacular. We watched balloons float every morning, some landing directly in the green space off the balcony while having coffee. The location is perfect to get to anywhere in Uptown quickly and downtown is only about a 10 minute drive. We truly felt right at home here and did not want for anything. VIP was attentive to our arrival, made sure the accommodations were in order and that nothing was needed. Would highly recommend VIP Vacation Services and their properties to anyone looking for a nice spot to call home during your stay in Pagosa Springs.

This spacious townhome is a perfect location in Uptown with a wonderful view of Pagosa Peak. Close to stores and restaurants and only a short drive to downtown Pagosa. It provides great living space and the 2 car garage is an added bonus to stay out of the elements. Would recommend a stay here for your Pagosa vacation.

The view was spectacular, the house was very clean and well kept. Our management contact with Lori was great, she responded to a request we had immediately and also picked up our special order from a bakery and had it waiting for us. We are spoiled now!!

We enjoyed our stay at this rental! It was super easy to find and near several restaurants, gas stations, and many other stores. The customer service was great and very responsive! We had all the information we needed in text and email! It was close to perfect. Only thing that could improve was having newer technology, smart tv, or Bluetooth speaker. There was more than enough board games if you enjoy those! We had 8 guests which we all fit but I wouldn’t recommend staying with a group larger than 6 people. The The water gets cold after 2 showers and there only 3 beds and 2 couches. It’s exactly like the description but just feels tight with 8 people. I would definitely stay again! The town was great and locals were friendly!

Wonderful place with beautiful views! The townhome was very spacious and super clean. Close to everything but in a nice, quiet area. Many amenities nearby such as grocery store, restaurants, walking trails, and Rec Center. Property management was very responsive. We would stay again! 5 stars!

We found the property to be clean, everything in proper working order, and far enough from downtown traffic and noise. We still had close access to eating places. conveniences, and while the drive was within 5 to 10 minutes to the main downtown I would not call it walking distance. We were completely satisfied with our location.

The townhouse was fantastic! This was our first trip to Pagosa Springs and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Lots of restaurants and grocery store close by and It's a quick trip downtown. The house was spacious and well stocked. In fact, of all our rentals we've been in, this one was probably stocked the best. Great view of the mountains on the back deck and if you're lucky, you may see some hot air balloons in the sky. Highly recommend for anyone to stay! The only negative is the sky light in upstairs bathroom may need to be resealed but it had no bearing on our stay.

Great place, lovely views off the deck. The beds were comfortable. Is a quiet location, we lived it!
