Bear Knoll Cabin

This is an ok cabin but unfortunately we visited during a very hot time and it does not have AC. Not only was there no AC but you could not open half the windows to get a cross breeze. It was absolutely miserable. I do not recommend this cabin in the summer unless the new owner adds AC. The driveway is also a big problem. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive do not rent this unit. It is a steep incline with massive ruts in it. Nearly impossible for a regular SUV or car to climb. You do not get a good sense of the incline from the picture. After many attempts at trying to get up the driveway our check engine light came on so we had to spend time on our vacation getting that looked at. There are only overhead lights in the family room and bedrooms, no end tables or lamps, so if you want to read in bed the whole room is lit up. It's not ideal for others who are trying to sleep. The linens in the second bedroom had not been changed from the last guest which was gross. The hot tub is nice and there were plenty of extra towels. The kitchen is adequate but no dishwasher. I would only recommend to rent this unit in the winter if you have 4 wheel drive otherwise you are going to be very unhappy like we were.

This cabin was so cozy. Secluded, but still a convenient distance to town and the springs. The view from the hot tub was gorgeous and the deck was perfect for enjoying morning coffee. The heating situation in the living room was not ideal, but the mini splits in the bedrooms kept us warm throughout the night.

The cabin in the trees was nice, quiet setting that was hidden from the lights of town while still being relatively close to town. The neighborhood looked rather run down and sketchy but it was quiet. The hot tub was the highlight of the property. Unfortunately the best bed was in the loft while the bathroom was on the main floor which is not a great setup if you’re over 30.

Nice quiet getaway. Cozy house. Enjoyed and will return.

This cabin was such a cute getaway! I loved that the house was stocked with condiments, spices & all the necessary things for cooking (inlcluding some snacks)! The cabin is about 15ish minutes from downtown Pagosa which gave a nice secluded vibe without being too far. I loved the scenic view, hot tub, loft bedroom, wrap around porch & overall vibe. The host clearly thought about the details, including dog bowls & feedings mats! I would definitely stay here again.

We could have not asked for a better cabin to stay in for our first visit to Pagosa Springs. The cabin is how it is pictured and better in person. We rented this cabin knowing there was only queen sizes beds to sleep in, but we were pleasantly surprised to see the loft area had a king size bed up there and also ample sitting room. The hot tub was great and the view from where it sets is just amazing, especially around sundown. The kitchen is very well stocked and had all the things we needed to cook as we did most of our eating at the cabin. It is only 15 minutes from the closes grocery store which was great. All in all, this cabin was just beyond what we expected. Do note, you for sure need 4-wheel drive to get to this cabin, especially on a rainy or snowy day. And the cabin does not have AC. We missed that on the listing when we booked this cabin, but it really was not that bad. The owner has several fans all around the cabin to keep it cool and on days it was not to hot we left the windows open, and it felt great. Again, what a great find!

Stayed 5 nights, location and property were great, would recommend.

This was absolutely perfect as a get together for me and my two best friends. We loved the hot tub and the beds are comfortable. Be aware that Apple Maps takes you to the wrong home!

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary & the cottage was just what we were looking for. It's close enough to town to grab a meal or some quick groceries but far enough away from the hustle & hustle that you can hear the wind whistle in the trees. Deer & turkeys were passing through daily. The hot tub is perfectly positioned for great views and was sparkling clean.

Good space and we saw lots of wildlife.

Easy access to Pagosa Springs and Chimney Rock (take the guided tour). House was clean, had everything we needed and communication with property manager was great. Great hiking and balloon rides!

Everything was great and we loved this place. The only tiny little annoyance was getting a text at 7:30AM on checkout day asking if we were leaving earlier than the 10:00am checkout time. I understand it was a busy weekend but when I go on vacation the last thing I want to hear is my phone alerting to texts and emails, especially before I’m out of bed.

Very private, quiet, clean and comfortable. Stayed 6 nights and absolutely loved it. Hope to spend more time here again.

Great property! Quiet and private location yet close to anything you want to explore in and around Pagosa Springs. The house was very clean and well equipped and the fenced deck was perfect for our dogs - would definitely stay here again!
